[130303 J-WAVE] HAPPINESS KAGOME TASTE OF LIFE

BoA on J-WAVE HAPPINESS

BoA guested on J-WAVE HAPPINESS KAGOME TASTE OF LIFE during her Only One Japanese single promotion and it's HILAROUS! If you haven't done so, listen to the stream here.

I translated the show below.

The show started with the MC asking BoA to select one out of 3 kinds of KAGOME (show sponsor) veggie juice. BoA picked the purple veggie one and said it tasted like fresh morning. :)

MC: This is the first time we meet but usually I often sing karaoke while watching your MVs and also dance along.
BoA: ahh.. yeah.. seems like they play MVs in karaoke. (Maybe in Korea they dont play MVs in noraebang? -noshadow31) thank you.

MC: This is your 12th year since debut and now you're working as a judge in an audition show in Korea. I myself have worked as a judge for model auditions held by my company. It's easy to look at the contestants' current state but it's very hard to forcast their future. So what aspects do you look for as a judge?

BoA: I think it's the same for all whether it be model or singer. The effort you have to put out to grow is even more important than your natural talent. So I think it's important to see how diligent a contestant is. And there's also the ability to draw in audience's attention. Some people can sing without trying their best but you'd feel you want to hear more of their singing. People like that can grow big.

MC: grow big? you mean grow to be a star

BoA: Yes. grow to be a star (LOL)

MC: Do you also think of yourself in the past?

BoA: Yes it made me recall my past back as a rookie. Seeing them trying their best made me feel I have to try hard too.

MC: You'll resume activities in Japan with Only One, your 32nd single. That's a big number, 32!

BoA: I stopped counting from the 10th single. (LOL)

MC praising BoA for her self-produced single. song is catchy. cool choreography also sexy...

BoA: Thank you. When you listen to the song, it doesnt sound like a dance song but this type of tempo actually suit various dance expressions. (explain lyrical-hiphop) I want to both make it a song for listening and also to make a performance out of it. Only One tune is unexpectedly easy to dance to. I'm happy I could reach a lot of my goals with it.

MC: Why did you make it a sad love song?

BoA: When I first made the track, it could go either way, happy or sad. Then I thought making it a sad song would be less predictable. Also sad lyrics to beautiful melody would feel even sadder.

(Play Only One)

MC: The lyrics are very easy to sympathize with. (blah) Welcome to HANDMADE corner. BoA, please share your handmade story.

BoA: In Japan, I started jikutaku? *funny BoA alert*

MC: takuroku (recording at home)?

BoA: it's called takuroku? (LOL) yeah I learned to takuroku in Japan.

MC: since when?

BoA: well it's not like I have a really good recording environment. I make tracks using PC and keyboard. I add guide and melody by myself too.

MC: when did you start doing it? *The MC really wants to know. She asked twice*

BoA: I have the software since 7-8 years ago but I learnt to play with it only 3 years ago

MC: wow that's cool. Did you also write lyrics by yourself and then add to the song?

BoA: For me, I usually do both lyrics and melody at the same time. I think of lyrics while working on the melody using the PC.

MC: wow

BoA: I type faster than I write. I write so slow I forget what to write while writing. *funny BoA strikes again*

MC: is it fun?

BoA: it's fun but when it feels more and more like work, it's a little....

MC: painful?

BoA: right. If there's a deadline then I'd be in trouble.

MC: Do you have anything else you want to do handmade?

BoA: umm...everyone has this one recipe they can do well, right? I don't have one.

MC: Really? So unexpected!

BoA: really?

MC: I thought you cooked!

BoA: no I can't. You know when you have a home party at a friend's place and everyone brings in a dish, I just buy drinks and foods and bring those in. So I want to be able to cook at least one dish.

MC: Do you know the no.1 dish people cook for others?

BoA: What's it? Miso soup? *BoAchan, seriously??! XD*

MC: no but close

BoA: tamagoyaki(ไข่ม้วน)? ochazuke(rice in tea)? (LOL) *Goodness BoA!! Do you plan to pour tea in rice, hand it to others and then claim you cook for them?!! XD*

MC: it's nikujaga(meat stew)

BoA: oh it's nikujaga. I like nikujaga! meet, potato, mirin and shirataki?

MC: shoyu, shirataki yes

BoA: sugar! sugar! *BoA busy showing her knowledge about nikujaga ingredients XD*

MC: I cant cook either so from now on, let's try together

BoA: Yes! As long as we have nikujaga, tamagoyaki and miso soup, everything is fine.

*LOL*

Then BoA picked 3 songs to play

1. WHEN I WAS YOR MEN / BRUNO MARS -> sweet lyrics can grab girls hearts. voice is great and cool image

2. CAN'T TAKE MY EYES OF YOU / LAURYN HILL -> for this song, she likes this version best

3. SUIT AND TIE / JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE -> MV really cool. back to the classic

MC: Do you often listen to male artists' songs?

BoA: Yes. I like them

MC: Good selection

BoA: Maybe I should have selected softer songs? like Maroon5's Sunday Morning? (LOL) *The show is in sunday morning slot. BoA so witty!*

BoA and her perfume stick

Then in FAVORITE THING corner, BoA introduced her perfume DIPTYQUE L'OMBRE DANS L'EAU.
BoA: since it's a roll on stick type, it's very easy to carry around in a bag and use whenever you want. it's called L'OMBRE DANS L'EAU and I dont know what kind of smell it is. Will you try it?

MC: (after trying it on) Hmmm, what smell is this?

BoA: (LOL) *BoA very happy the MC can't tell either* a lot of smells mixed together, right? I think it smells like a fresh sunday morning *Here she goes ago with the sunday morning joke XD* fresh&sweet smell.

MC:When do you usually put perfume on?

BoA: Perfume can change one's mood, right?

MC:Right. Have you even thought of mixing your own perfume?

BoA: I have perfume as concert goods once. If I were to do it again, this time the smell'd be more luxurious.

MC: That time it was not luxurious?

BoA: I was in my teens back then so the smell was sweet. actually I don't remember what kind of smell it was. it was too long ago. (LOL)

MC: Last question, please tell us when do you feel happiness?

BoA: For me, it has to be when I eat. *seriously BoA! I cannot with you!*

MC: That's a very important thing.

BoA: Yes. When hungry, people become sensitive and narrow-minded. *BoA talks about herself here LOL*

MC: well, don't forget cooking

BoA: Yes I'll try hard and learn to do a recipe. (LOL)

MC: I'll look forward to seeing you again

MC: (ENDING) When I see her performing, she looks very cool but seeing in person, BoA is very cute. :)

This radio show is so precious with BoA's "jikuroku", "ochazuke", "sunday morning" etc.! XD XD XD and sorry the transcript is a little hard to read with my own comments intruding here and there. I can't help it! XD XD
