[translation] 180116 J-WAVE GROOVE LINE

DJ Piston: Quiz for BoA! What number is this new album?

BoA can't recall if this new album(Watashi Konomamade Iinakana) is her 10th or 8th JP studio album and mentioned that her staff members are also arguing if it's 8th or 9th outside. (LOL i'm thinking it's who's back they're having trouble with. even fans tend to forget it exists hahaha)

BoA: I stopped counting my singles after the 10th.

DJ Piston asked what's she been doing in 3 years and a half after releasing Who's Back.

BoA: I can't believe it's been 3.5 years. I feel like it was yesterday last I met you. I always feel calm talking to you.

BoA said she had released Korean album, did a drama and host an audition show called Produce101.

The way she worked with this JP album isn't rushing toward a set deadline but rather she took her time and recorded it one by one and when all the songs are done, she found that 3 years and a half have passed.

The staff for Korean and Japanese work are different and it's more economical for her to fly to JP to record (for JP album).

DJ.Piston made a remark that KR music are more international.
BoA said a lot of KR songs originated from the West but for her new JP album, there're a lot of songs from the West too.

They talked about how the album will be released on Valentine's Day and the album title means "Am I okay like this?"

DJ.Piston: Is it intentional?

BoA: No! It's a coincidence! We didn't even know WaKoIi is gonna be the title song when we set the date. But afterwards I did wonder if it'd be okay releasing on Valentine's Day with such album title. But my female staff like and can relate to it a lot. But (jokingly) am I ok like this?

DJ.Piston: Of course. Everybody likes you the way you are. So you've been busy in Korea but this year you'll be busy in Japan right?

BoA: This year I started working in Japan from New Year's Day! It was for CDTV New Year stage and I had to stand by since 2.45AM!! and what's more? the song is Valenti! (lol) so I squeeze in my tight jeans and decided to start working earnestly in Japan this year.

Then they talked about the Unchained tour.

BoA: There're 7 concerts in total from Hokkaido, Osaka, Nagoya, Aichi, Fukuoka, Tokyo. (me: Nagoya is a city in Aichi. BoA's confused here.)

BoA: I had a concert in Hokkaido before 10 years ago and it was so much fun. This time around, first concert is in Hokkaido so I'm looking forward to going back again.

Topic change to weather in Korea.

BoA: It's so cold that it's almost impossible to walk outside. It's around -4 celcius now.

DJ Piston: Do you plan to go watch the Olympics in Pyeongchang?

BoA: I'll watch from TV.

DJ Piston: Have you ever gone see real golf competition?

BoA: Yes. I actually have friends who are professional golf players. I made a promise to go play with Park In Bee recently but it was too cold, around -8 celcius so we had to cancel it.

DJ Piston: You have to go when the weather is good.

BoA: But when the weather is good, they are all busy with tournaments! I've been busy lately so I haven't golf much but it's good for stress relief.

DJ Piston: Then you should bring your golf gears to recording room and record while taking a swing. "Am I okay like this?" is exactly a proper question for the situation.

BoA: (shouting) "Am I okay like this?"

DJ Piston: Let's play one more song from the album. You sang this song before at Billboard. It's called Jazzclub.

BoA explained the song lyrics, and mentioned filming the MV in New York
