Reviews from critics: BoA in Make Your Move

I compiled the following excerpts from reviews listed on the rotten tomatoes: Make Your Move page.

Let's see what the experts have to say about BoA's first acting role ever.

BoA's slightly uncertain English may render some of her lines askew, but she's lovely, an absolute twirling dervish in the spotlight, and her interracial romance with Hough, with its tension and comedy, has a verve-y freshness to it, which reminded me a bit of Marlon Brando and Miiko Taka way back when in 1957's Sayonara. (There's some flavor-adding cultural info as well, concerning BoA's Japanese upbringing as a Korean, and also her use of taeko drums in her dance.)

Make Your Move : Opinions and Report

"Make Your Move" standie in Thailand

As a BoA fan in Thailand, there haven't been that many occasions where we feel blessed by BoA activities, goodies, etc. Actually BoA's only performed here once in an SMTOWN concert. So I was shocked to learn that BoA's first movie would premiere here first in Asia! Seriously we Thais are so spoiled, more often that not, we'd get movies in theatres faster than anywhere else on earth. :P

I saw the movie in 3D yesterday and plan to see the 2D version tomorrow. The experience was so surreal. BoA was speaking, acting, dancing in that big screen right in front of me. And that alone is enough for me. The movie could suck in every aspect, but I'd still enjoy it just the same, with a stupid grin plastered on my face throughout.

I'm writing this post upon a request by usako, a fellow BoA fan. I didn't know what to write about as I suspect everyone who visits my blog is a hardcore BoA fan and for creatures like us, it doesn't really matter how the movie turned out to be. BoA's adorable in it, she dances to stunning choreography by NAPPYTABS, she plays the drums cutely, and she smiles while talking and dancing. What more do you need? Touching story? Solid acting? Smart dialogs? Innovative ideas? Creative plot twists? Smooth editing? Look elsewhere then! LOL!

[120728] BoA 4354 Comeback Show

It seems BoA has established a good relationship with SBS since KPOP STAR. They gave her a full one hour slot to air her BoA 4354 Comeback Show which is a rarity for KPOP artists. The KPOP STAR staff actually produced this show too! Around 400 lucky fans got to attend the filming of her performances which took 13 hours to complete! By that time it was like 4AM and the show chartered buses to send fans home whille BoA herself continued shooting other parts til dawn and had an interview scheduled in the morning. She had practically no time to properly sleep and you can be sure this shall continue until the end of 7th album promotion period.

BoA - 7th Korean Album "Only One"

This new Korean album in 2 years after "Hurricane Venus" is special in many ways. Firstly, it's the first time BoA's self written/composed song "Only One" is chosen as a title song for album promotion and it's a mid-tempo song to boot! Secondly, BoA co-produced this album and has many says in what and what-not to add in the album. (Sure she has produced her Japanese album "IDENTITY" before but anyway.) Thirdly, it only has 9 songs and if you deduct the 2 instrumentals and previously-digitally-released "One Dream", you're left with only 6 tracks. But as the Queen herself said "Quality over quantity" :)
