BoA：It was used an an opening theme for a drama that was on air since April, so recording was done since winter (LOL). I felt it was fresh the first time I heard it. It also has the trendy digital sound. Heard that the drama was about females in a hospital fighting with the society, judging from the sound and melody, I predicted the lyrics would be about giving hope and my prediction was right. (LOL)

BoA：MV was shot at Saipan right before golden week so it was not crowded with people.
Excite：Which do you prefer, mountain or sea?
BoA：Sea, I guess. wait.. I'll pick mountain. I don't like strong sunbeams. It's not hot in mountains.
Excite：You drive a red car in the MV. Do you drive in private?
BoA：Yes but I don't particularly like driving. I prefer my manager to drive for me (LOL)
Excite：Have you ever used your frustration as a source of power like in the lyrics?
BoA：Not much, I guess. When I create a work and it turns out as I want it to be, and I start liking it, then I'd feel the joy of working. For 「Tail of Hope」, it's fresh and has a good sound. I can sing it as I imagined it to be, so I'm satisfied.
Excite：The song's theme is smiles after tears. What do you do when you feel down?
BoA：I try not to think about the cause of my tears. I'll drive it off my head, and look for something fun. Because once I think about the cause of my sadness, I'm afraid I won't be able to stop thinking about it.
Excite：What if you have a friend who "cry, cry, cry" like in the lyrics?
BoA：I need to find out the reason first before I can find the right words to use. So I'll listen closely. But if it's a love problem, the person tends to have the answer already and just wants confirmation from someone. In that case, I'll say what s/he wants to hear.
Excite：Have you ever "cry, cry, cry" like in the lyrics?
BoA：During Xmas Live(Dec 2011 at Tokyo International Forum Hall A), I was overwhelmed with feelings and I couldn't sing "merikuri". The more I thought "I need to stop crying and sing properly", the more tears came out. After a while, I gave up. (LOL) That Xmas Live was like a "Best" Live where I sang all my hits from before, and it gave me a chance to look back at my career that "I've really worked hard". The fans were also very warm and I hadn't been doing live concert for a big while, so I cried.
Excite：You also cried in the Korean audition program.
BoA：Yes! In season 1, I saw a young girl working hard and thought of my younger self. In auditions, some people can't show their true talents because of the pressure. Whenever I see that, I'd think "Too bad", "What a waste". The audition program is not made by the judges, but rather by the contestants ranging from little kids to old guys. Everyone of them came with the pure love for music. It made me feel the power of music once again. It was fun.
Excite：Earlier this year, you held a concert in Korea for the first time.
BoA：I had a lot in Japan but for Korea, it was the first concert so I felt pressured because the fans had been waiting for so long. But once it started, I simply enjoyed it.
Excite：「Baby You」 was written and composed by you.
BoA：I created it as a gift for the fans in my first concert in Korea. But although it was a gift, I didn't want the lyrics to be about any of that. Instead, I wanted it to be a song that fans can enjoy listening in everyday life.
Excite：I really like how you put importance in your work like that.
BoA：eh? like? (embarrassed) Such an unexpected comment. It took me by surprised (LOL)
Excite：I'm sorry (LOL) What part of this song do you like?
BoA：I like the lounge-style R&B taste in this song. Oh right, since many people like Only One, I decided to write the lyrics for this song as the prequel of Only One. Stage direction for these two songs in the concert was also linked together.
Excite：Have you ever let go and then feel sorry later like in the lyrics?
BoA：Well... Doesn't everyone think "I should have done it this way." in relationship? But you can't fix the past so I'll try not to repeat the same mistake in the future.
Excite：What's the fun in writing/composing your own songs?
BoA：If you think you want to sing a certain kind of song, it's hard to find it from a pile of works others have created. No matter how many songs you listen, there're times where you just can't find what you're looking for. Compared to that, making it yourself is easier to get exactly what you want. But it takes a lot of times and is difficult for my head, so I'd like to do it only moderately. (LOL)
Excite：What takes time the most?
BoA：Both melody&lyrics. Not only the melody line, I also make the track that matches it myself. If I don't, the song's image will change drastically during arrangement stage. For 「Baby You」, I also made the track up to a certain level before handing it over to the staff. This song has Korean lyrics first but if translated literally, there'd be a lot of parts where the nuances are not right and the result wouldn't sound like lyrics. So I thought I had to rewrite it and that's why the song title changed. It was difficult but I think it's good that I rewrote the whole thing.
Excite：What's your schedule for this summer?
BoA：Song production. Since I hate hot weather, working in the studio sounds nice. (LOL) For outdoor, I'd like to try Jet Ski & Wakeboard. I tried jet ski before and heard that wakeboard was fun. When I tried jet ski, it was easier than I thought so I hope I can do wakeboard as well.
BoA's current obsession : Travelling
I went to Italy privately just a while ago. Since I usually go to the U.S. because of work, I decided on Europe for this trip. I found the scenery there impressive since it was different than that of Asia and the U.S. Only sitting in the middle of the town can make a lovely picture. Even if it is about to rain, if it's in Europe then you seem to think "wow rain might be nice too". Scenery/atmosphere is something money can't buy or create. It's wonderful. In Milan, it actually rained but I still enjoyed walking around, appreciating the city. This time I was able to visit only Milan and Rome so I want to visit Florence and Venice if I have a chance next time. Just by feeling "the air is different" the moment I landed at the airport can refresh my mood.
