BoA and her judgement on Bang YeDam

Bang YeDam on KPOP STAR2
Have you seen KPOP STAR2 episode 2? If you haven't and plan to do so, I advise you to read no further because this post contains spoiler regarding a child contestant, Bang YeDam. ;)

If you have seen the episode, then you'd have already known that this boy (yes it's a boy!) got 2 PASS from YG&JYP and 1 FAIL from BoA. The boy has a very beautiful voice and an accurate sense of rhythm, it's no wonder that he would pass this 1st round.

The reason BoA gave for failing him is there's no guarantee how he will sound like after puberty. <= This! I give her props for having the courage to fail this boy even though it's clear she really enjoyed his performance, saying he reminded her of young Michael Jackson. BoA's got guts and has her own opinions and reasons to support her decisions. XD

What's the point of this post, you ask? hahaha
It's just that I read this certain article on nate. I suspect the writer is a Jumping (LOL) because s/he praises BoA in the article so much I can't help but smile while reading. :)

The writer stated that YG&JYP passed the boy because they look at him from a producer perspective. They want good materials when they see ones. But BoA is different since she's not a producer. Instead, she looks at contestants from a sunbae(senior) point of view, more like a mentor. She must be afraid that the boy might ruin his voice if he overuses his voice for this survival audition. Hence, her judgement of failing him.

While I feel grateful the author wrote about BoA in a positive light for others to see, I cannot help but disagree with the author. Since I have nowhere to voice my opinion, I decide to write about it in my blog. LOL

Contrary to what the author seem to think, I rather interpret this as a producer/management/investor trait in BoA. I mean if the boy wins, he'll get to debut with one of three big companies and what will happen if he hits puberty right after contract signing? What if his voice turns ugly? This is completely different from when BoA cast that little boy (whatever his name is, I forgot) in season 1. That boy's skill was dance. Puberty doesn't count.

Bang YeDam's greatest selling point is, however, his voice (and sense of rhythm but anyway). So it makes sense for BoA to want him to try later when his voice has become stable enough.

So there. I've stated my point. LOL Let me add a bit that I didn't enjoy Bang YeDam's Mmmbop that much. It's like I cannot breathe throughout the song and I don't mean it in a good way either. >_<
